Ineka’s Background

Ineka Morosini is a mother of one beautiful little human and a midwife to her core. Ineka has been within the birthing world since 2016, where she trained alongside the midwives at the Byron Birthing Service. The first birth Ineka lay witness to was at dawn by the warmth of a fireplace. It created the unyielding foundations in Ineka for the protection of physiological birth.

Upon graduating Ineka had only experienced a large majority of physiological birth. Seeking to immerse herself in complex birth care, she gained a postgraduate position at one of the largest tertiary Hospitals in New South Wales – John Hunter Hospital.

Ineka has since worked alongside influential midwife specialists, obstetricians and neonatal specialists. Her goal has been to learn and put all the knowledge she has gained into opening Morosini Midwifery, the only Newcastle-based private midwifery service.

Morosini Midwifery provides private midwifery care in a small intimate practice and in the comfort of your home. We also offer a Medicare rebate. Ineka is an endorsed midwife that allows for all your care to be attended through her practice.

Why Morosini Midwifery Exists.

Morosini Midwifery is inspired by renowned midwife Dr. Rachel Reed and her goal to “Reclaim childbirth as a rite of passage acknowledges that self-transformation occurs regardless of how the experience unfolds. It supports women to find their individual pathway through their rite of passage. Understanding childbirth as a rite of passage allows us to consciously craft a woman-centred birth culture, creating conditions for empowerment and growth.” We share her belief in challenging cultural norms in birth by exposing areas where policies and guidelines aren’t reflective of current evidence.

What separates Morosini Midwifery from hospital pregnancy care is that we prioritise time. Time to listen, time to educate, and time for in-depth appointments.

Regular pregnancy care only sees women from the second trimester (14-21 weeks gestation). Morosini Midwifery offers women care from their first trimester, once a confirmation of pregnancy is attended. Postnatally Morosini Midwifery provides care for six weeks, instead of the one week that public care provides.

Morosini Midwifery is guided by a women-centred philosophy, which “enables individual decision-making and self-determination for the woman to care for herself and her family. Woman-centred care respects the woman’s ownership of her health information, rights and preferences while protecting her dignity and empowering her choices. Woman-centred care is the focus of midwifery practice in all settings.” – Nursing and Midwifery Board Ahpra (NMBA) Midwife Standards for Practice
